1. Set the stage - This novel begins with a farm in England filled with many animals. A wise pig shares his wisdom and later dies which causes the animals to uproar and revolt against the humans. This led to the control of the farm and the beginning of the story.
2. Rising Action - The pigs begin to demonstrate leadership and find various ways to get things done around the farm and make a profit. Also by keeping animals equal they made a set of commandments that were to be followed by all.
3. Climax - The climax of the book is found at the end when the animals discover the pigs playing cards with the other farmers and humans around the area. Also how the pigs resemble the humans as well.
4. Falling Action - The animals continue to work hard and maintain the farm even after many losses and events that made things go bad. The animals stay strong but are unable to remember earlier times of the farm and even their friends such as Boxer.

Theme
Power Corrupts: The theme of the book is that power corrupts. This can be seen throughout the book because of Napoleon. After gaining power he starts to abuse it by mistreating the other animals, providing smaller rations, and making them work harder as he did nothing.
Intelligence is Power: By using persuasive words and intelligent sentences the pigs were able to talk themselves out of anything that would need a very thorough and worthy explanation. This goes to show that if you are not intelligent then you can be easily deceived.

Motif
Work- This is a motif to me since it is the animals answer to everything. They have to work more and this is especially seen in Boxer who does the work of three horses.
Corruption- This can be seen because of how Napoleon and Mr. Jones had abused their power when in control.
Corruption- This can be seen because of how Napoleon and Mr. Jones had abused their power when in control.
Symbol
House- This was a symbol of what once was such as with Mr. Jones and the old farm but also to still show superiority of the humans.
Windmill- The windmill symbolized to me work and the manipulation of the animals since they were so busy with it that they did not think to rebel.
The Flag- This symbolized a new beginning since it was put up when Animal Farm was created and the animals rejoiced.

Tone
Sad: When Old Major dies everybody is sad and ends up living under his teachings.
Happy: When the animals win over the farm the animals rejoice and celebrate.
Angry: The other farmers were angry that the animals were capable of keeping a farm running.

Mood
The mood of the book to me was depressing because the farm they had worked so hard to built had declined to worse then what the previous conditions were. Also because the animals were continuously manipulated by the others and it was rather sad that they had been brought down to that.
